Idea Labs & Micro-trainings
These fun, low-pressure labs offer a 10-15 minute “micro-training” on a niche topic of your choice, followed by a facilitated 45 minute brainstorming session with participants. Attendees report an infusion of ideas and renewed enthusiasm. Micro-training video recordings are also available individually.
Training FAQs
What makes Libraries4DE worth hiring?
The purpose of this website, newsletter, and community is to build leaders for local digital inclusion work in libraries across the nation. In a custom training from Libraries for Digital Equity, you’ll get person-focused content and genuinely good ideas. Just read the reviews.
Who will be my trainer?
Libraries4DE is a one-woman show, the brainchild of Liz Gabbitas. (Check out her work on her website or LinkedIn.) For most trainings listed, she will be excited to share 10 years of experience and incredible professional resources.
However, Libraries4DE can also pull from a pool of talented and experienced trainers. Especially for highly specialized topics, we will subcontract with an excellent professional whose expertise is best suited for the requested training to ensure quality content for you.
Can you do this for free since I have a limited budget?
No. This isn’t a money maker either, and we don’t have the reserves or sponsors for pro-bono training. Libraries4DE will charge reasonable speaker fees so professionals are compensated for their time and expertise. If you’re concerned it might be out of your budget, please mention this when you fill out the contact form. Reducing the training length, selecting a previously presented topic, waiving recording licenses, and swapping out presentation time for facilitated Q&A time are all great ways to lower the cost.
Help! I need a trainer TOMORROW.
Libraries4DE can accommodate last minute requests! Please text 801-949-7694 if you need an answer faster than 1 business day. (Rush fees will apply.) Otherwise, your contact form will receive an answer within 3 business days.
